Treats of Taupo is by Treat NZ, NZ’s coolest foodie club!
Back in 2021, Taupo local, Fleur had seen enough local eateries close up and decided to do something about it. Having grown up and worked for years in hospitality, as well as completed a degree in computing and worked in digital agencies, the idea of Treat NZ was born; an online platform to connect foodies and local restaurants.
On one hand, restaurants struggle to reach new customers, particularly through digital means, and on the other hand, locals are dining out less due to rising costs, lack of excitement and as well as other reasons. Treat NZ is the ultimate foodie club that helps foodies dine out more frequently and enjoy exclusive, fun dining experiences and events, plus support and promote local eateries to help get some bums on seats!

The idea of a food and drink festival…
The idea started in Paper Plus, Taupo. Having spotted a NZ ‘Food & Wine’ mug we realised there was a big, gaping hole in the middle, where Taupo should be.
After having run 8 sell out events through Treat NZ in 2023, how hard could it be to organise a food festival?… We’ll let you know the verdict after the 6th October!
